Classified makes official its partnership with Campenaerts
Lotto-Dstny rider Victor Campenaerts will continue to use Classified's Powershift hub throughout the season after having been on everyone's lips in the first classics of the season. A partnership agreement with which the Belgian joins other illustrious cyclists who were already part of the roster of brand ambassadors with the difference that Campenaerts is the only active one.
Victor Campenaerts says goodbye to his bike's front derailleur
With the first three Belgian cobblestone classics already contested, one of the topics of conversation among cycling circles has been Lotto-Dstny rider Victor Campenaerts' bike and its massive 62-tooth single chainring. Campenaerts does not, however, renounce the range of gear ratios of a conventional groupset by mounting on his rear wheel the Powershift hub built by Classified, a hub with an internal shifting mechanism that allows alternating between a 1:1 and a 1:0.686 ratio, functioning as if it were a dual chainring but without the possibility of the chain coming off and with an unsurpassed shifting speed.
Victor Campenaerts has been using this configuration on his training bike all last season before deciding to use it in competition. The reliability, aerodynamic gains and mechanical efficiency achieved by being able to use a larger chainring were decisive in his decision to go for this option.

Campenaerts decided to start using Classified's Powershift hub on his own because Ridley, the brand that supplies Lotto-Dstny had access to these hubs by mounting them on some of its gravel models, always interested in the improvements that can be achieved through the material. Let's not forget that he was among the first to use one-piece suits beyond the time trial or who made fashionable the narrow handlebars and handlebars turned inwards to gain aerodynamics.
Now, Classified has taken advantage of this visibility and has established a partnership agreement with Victor Campenaerts, adding him to its already extensive list of ambassadors, which already includes cyclists such as Philippe Gibert, Tom Boonen, Andre Greipel, Marcel Kittel and Anna Van der Breggen.
Campenaerts' debut in the classics at the beginning of the season has been relatively discreet if we look at the results. However, on Tuesday, in the GP Le Samyn, he managed to get into a quality breakaway that held the peloton in check until just three kilometers from the end when they were caught by a group very depleted by the chase, in fact, the winner of this race was his teammate Milan Menten who was also part of this breakaway.
Beyond the visibility that Campenaerts can bring to Classified, the collaboration extends to the technical aspect to take advantage of the experience of his use in competition in the development and evolution of the Powershift hub.
Asked about the reason for this choice, Victor Campenaerts answered categorically: "I ride Classified because it's the most efficient and fastest setup for my bike. It allows me to eliminate the front derailleur, you can shift at full load and it allows you to use a bigger chainring."
