Cervélo Rouvida: the first electric bicycle from the brand

An ebike was missing from the Cervélo catalog, something they have just solved with their new Rouvida, an electric bike that comes with a dual personality, gravel and road, supported by a solid Fazua Ride60 motor and its powerful but subtle and non-intrusive assistance so that it feels like a real bike, even if it has a little help.

With practically all brands already with electric road or gravel bikes in their catalog, it was curious that a firm as famous as Cervélo did not yet have theirs, especially when in recent years they have diversified their offer beyond their ultra-sporty bikes towards their great Caledonia fondo or their excellent Áspero gravel machine.

And taking inspiration from the Caledonia, at least in terms of the external design of the bike, their first ebike, the Rouvida, was born, a bike that maintains the main lines of the aforementioned gran fondo and, in turn, of the brand's bikes to make it perfectly recognizable as a purebred Cervélo.

A bike that occupies the segment now known as All Road with a bike conceived both as a road bike and suitable for gravel going beyond a simple ability to mount wider tires. This Rouvida inherits from the Áspero gravel the front dropouts adjustable in two positions so that the fork offset can be modified by a few millimeters that may seem few but in that part of the bike they decisively affect the behavior since the height is also modified by having the adjustment piece in a diagonal arrangement.

In this way, in road configuration it has a smaller trail and a more vertical effective steering angle to make the steering more agile. In turn, in this configuration the maximum tire size allowed is 34 mm. In the other position, on the contrary, the steering is more stable to give the bike more poise when we ride on the roads as well as going beyond the All Road concept, becoming a true gravel capable of mounting tires up to 43.5 mm.

A behavior adapted to the use that is going to be given to it and that is supported by a Fazua Ride60 motor with its usual lightweight and its contained lines that prevent the bike from being revealed as an electric bike unless we look closely. The Fazua Ride60 uses a 430 Wh battery. In addition, Cervélo has given a twist to the location of the battery in the down tube by rotating it 90º to place its rectangle vertically and thus allow the tube, of aerodynamic cut, of course being a Cervélo, to be more stylized and not as mastodonic as it is commonly in electric bikes.

The assistance system is completed with a small display integrated into the top tube behind the head tube, which includes a USB charging port to power other devices such as mobile phone, cycle computer, etc. and a couple of buttons on the handlebar curve that allow us to select the assistance mode when we ride at full speed.
