Centerlock Carbon-Ti discs, this is the UAE's carbon prototype

Spectacular Carbon-Ti brake discs that feature the Colnago of UAE Team Emirates. A prototype of what will be the third generation of these discs with a floating design in which the carbon fiber clamping structure is combined with the steel of the braking surface to form an ultra-lightweight yet efficient assembly.

Carbon-Ti, component suppliers to UAE Team Emirates

The Italian firm Carbon-Ti supplies its most exquisite creations to UAE Team Emirates. A good example of this collaboration is the prototype of the third generation of the brand's brake discs in which carbon and steel go hand in hand to create very light discs that, in turn, achieve tremendous strength thanks to the stiffness and non-deformability provided by its central carbon structure on which the floating steel braking zone is anchored.

The novelty of this new version of the Carbon-Ti discs is that the brand will finally manufacture its discs for the increasingly common centerlock anchorage instead of having to use an adapter that allows to switch from the 6-bolt system to this one.

These new discs gain a couple of grams over their predecessors by incorporating more material and a new weave in the carbon structure in principle, seeking to make them even more robust. Titanium is also present in them, being used in the parts that hold together the central carbon part and the braking zone.

Apart from these spectacular disc brakes, other Carbon-Ti parts have also been seen on the UAE Team Emirates Colnago, such as the X-Carboring EVO chainrings that combine carbon and aluminum to improve weight and stiffness compared to Shimano's standard ones, something that, by the way, surely does not please the Japanese brand, always determined that the teams maintain the homogeneity of their groupsets.

Carbon-Ti components are also found in the ENVE wheels used by the team, specifically in the X-Lock EVO thru-bolts.

Despite the recent officialization of their partnership, the brand confirms that Tadej Pogacar has already been using their components during the spring races, even leading them to victory in races such as Amstel Gold Race or Tour of Flanders.
