Canyon's founder takes over the company after the departure of Spanish Nicolas de Ros Wallace
The German brand Canyon Bicycles has announced a significant change in its leadership. Roman Arnold, founder and chairman of the board, will assume the role of Executive Chairman starting September 1, reclaiming a key operational role in the company he founded over three decades ago.
Roman Arnold takes the helm of Canyon as Executive Chairman following the departure of Spanish executive Nicolas de Ros Wallace
This move comes after the mutual departure of Nicolas de Ros Wallace, a Spanish executive who has served as CEO for the past three and a half years. Under his leadership, Canyon experienced a period of strong growth, with revenue nearly doubling to nearly 800 million euros, solidifying the brand's position in the global market and reinforcing its reputation for innovation, performance, and direct-to-consumer sales.

Arnold, who founded Canyon in Koblenz (Germany), emphasized that his return aims to "strengthen the company's roots and shape its future" with a long-term strategic vision. "At the heart of Canyon are our cyclists, customers, and community. Our promise remains the same: Inspire to Ride", he underscored.

The Canyon board publicly expressed gratitude to de Ros Wallace for his time at the helm of the company, noting that his management laid a solid foundation for the future. The former CEO himself stated that he felt "honored" to have led "a brand admired worldwide for its passion and performance" and expressed pride in the achievements made alongside his team.
With this transition, Canyon aims to maintain its path of sustainable growth and invest in innovation, digitalization, and organizational excellence, all while staying true to its founding spirit of manufacturing world-class bicycles that inspire cyclists and elite professionals alike.
