Bike Ahead presents its first MTB frame weighing only 795g
Bike Ahead returns to the spotlight with the launch of a monocoque carbon frame weighing 795 grams, made in Europe, and priced at 1,979 euros. The German brand has named it The Frame, designed for XC and XCM with space for 2.4" tires. Additionally, the announcement was accompanied by the introduction of the BiTurbo RSX wheels and The Hypersaddle saddle.
Bike Ahead launches The Frame, featherweight for the brand's first frame
If all components play an important role in the behavior and sensations experienced by cyclists, the frame is the main protagonist of any bike. The industry is in a constant race - with more or less success - towards lightness; at the same time, it is one of the characteristics that brands proudly promote and that enthusiasts usually consider with great interest.
Now, the carbon component experts at Bike Ahead have renewed their catalog with three releases, among which stands out their first frame: a monocoque carbon frame for XC-XCM named The Frame, which - to no one's surprise - falls into the category of lightweight frames with a weight of 795 grams.

The Frame has been developed in collaboration with their partner CarbonTeam and is described by the brand as stable, durable, and precise. The design has focused on achieving a good level of stiffness in the head tube and bottom bracket to respectively provide precise steering and efficient power transmission.
The excellent handling of carbon makes The Frame a monocoque frame with reduced weight. The geometry follows current XC and XCM standards; that is, a 68.5° head tube angle, a 4° seat tube angle, 430mm chainstays, and a 430mm reach.
The Frame has space for 2.4" tires, 100mm forks, internal cable routing starting from the side of the head tube, Boost spacing, and a universal UDH hanger. Additionally, it is available in four sizes - S, M, L, and XL.
Without leaving European borders, manufacturing has been carried out in Portugal with the aim of reducing costs and being able to offer a product at a lower price of 1,979 euros. The matte finish and final quality control are carried out at Bike Ahead. The maximum weight - rider, bike, and equipment - is 115 kilograms.
New wheels and saddle
The German manufacturer has taken the opportunity to launch two other novelties to the market. On one hand, The Hypersaddle saddle is entirely made of carbon and weighs 70 grams, giving an idea of how important lightness has been in this product. However, a closer look reveals that the saddle offers more than that: efforts have also been directed towards comfort.
The Hypersaddle aims to stand out from other rigid and lightweight saddles with comfort. Manufacturing techniques have helped enhance the resistance between the shell, the hollow carbon rails, and the top.
The Hypersaddle saddle has a length of 245 mm, available in widths of 135 and 146 mm - in this case, the weight is 76 grams - and a price of 369 euros.
On the other hand, the new monocoque carbon six-spoke wheels BiTurbo RSX increase internal width - by 5 mm now measuring 33 mm - and reduce weight - 20 grams less than the previous model. Additionally, they feature DT Swiss hubs, tubeless valves, and are available in both 27.5" and 29".
The BiTurbo RSX wheels are manufactured in Germany, the pair of 27.5" wheels weigh 1,279 grams, the 29" pair 1,329 grams and are available for a price of 3,600 euros.
