The XCO World Championship 2024 started with an unexpected early start, due to the forecast of an electrical storm, it passed with two of the most exciting elite races of the year and ended with two new world champions confirming a definitive change in the XCO grid.

The women's race was a rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish. Dutch rider Puck Pieterse had a perfect race, but the various attacks and setbacks by Pauline Ferrand-Prevot, Candice Lill, Martina Berta, and Anne Terpstra made this race one of the most entertaining for the viewer.

The men's race started with the expectation that British rider Tom Pidcock would comfortably take the title. But as he has said on occasion, XCO is one of the toughest and most agonizing disciplines in cycling, so nothing can be taken for granted. Pidcock struggled, fought back, and battled for victory, but Victor Koretzky and Alan Hatherly were like rocks at the front of the race.
The XCO will have its next international event at the Lake Placid World Cup in the USA from September 27 to 29.
