Be careful with Strava. A police officer posts his workouts while on leave for back pain
Not everything is wonderful in the world of Strava, especially if you have something to hide. Sharing your experiences with everyone can have unpredictable consequences and lead to a nasty surprise.
Just ask a British police officer, who was caught with his hand in the cookie jar. We explain in this article why using this application has cost him dearly.

On sick leave for back pain and posting on Strava
It doesn't seem very compatible, does it? The aforementioned law enforcement officer repeatedly took leave from his job. The reason? Severe back pain, or at least that’s what he claimed to avoid going to work.

Nicholas Corbett, as the officer is named, suffered a minor car accident and since then - he claimed - he had been suffering from these ailments. A physical problem that, in theory, would prevent him from cycling or taking flights longer than 90 minutes.
The surprise came when the disciplinary committee of the Thames Valley Police, suspecting the truth of the matter, decided to investigate the officer. The result: he was in Mallorca, regularly cycling and, to make matters worse, posting his routes on Strava.
Reactions were swift: the aforementioned committee opened a case against him for serious misconduct, bad behavior, and lack of honesty and integrity in his conduct.
A situation that the man could have avoided, first, by behaving according to the rules at his job, especially considering it is a public function. But also by putting aside the use of Strava, which, sometimes, can lead to trouble.

And you, do you know of any similar situation related to the use of Strava? Have you ever regretted, for any reason, posting your bike ride? We look forward to hearing from you on our social media!
