The first stage of the Tour de France 2024 started with a fabulous ride by Romain Bardet and his teammate Frank van den Broek, who managed to finish just in time with the victory of the French cyclist who achieved the dreamt yellow jersey, even if it was only for a day. A push in the last flat kilometers of the stage against a hungry peloton where they surely benefited from the aerodynamic features of the Scott Foil RC.
Romain Bardet achieved his dream yellow jersey riding this Scott Foil RC
Introduced two seasons ago, the Scott Foil RC is the most aerodynamic machine from the Swiss brand and, following the current trend of bikes, did not hesitate, in its latest update, to delve into the realm of lightweight aerodynamics while prioritizing its capabilities against the wind. It is not surprising since it has been widely proven for years that gains achieved through aerodynamics far exceed those obtained by shaving off a few grams or making the bike even stiffer than the already immensely rigid current models.

A testament to the versatility of the Scott Foil RC is that Romain Bardet's attack occurred on the penultimate climb of the day, with still 50 kilometers ahead and two more tough ascents. In a show of strength, the Frenchman managed to cut almost a minute from the day's breakaway to link up with Fan van den Broek who had dropped from the lead to wait for him and help him climb back to the top of the race. On the final climb, they managed to distance themselves from their rivals and, in a fast and technical descent, they were able to consolidate the lead to, in the last 15 completely flat kilometers, suffer to the maximum to reach the finish line victorious with just a few seconds of advantage.
Although Scott still maintains the Addict RC in its catalog as a climbing competition bike, since the launch of the Foil RC and due to its great versatility, currently all cyclists from DSM-Firmenich-PostNL use this model.
