Antares Adaptative, Fizik updates its iconic 3D model
The Fizik Antares Adaptative was one of the first saddles on the market, in 2019, to be made through 3D printing, a technique that has proven to be extremely effective in achieving saddles with the highest level of comfort. Now Fizik renews its renowned model so that the firmness of each area of the saddle is personalized independently.
Fizik evolves the pioneer of saddles made with 3D printing
Few were betting in 2019, when Fizik launched its first 3D printed saddle, that this manufacturing technology would prevail among top-of-the-range models, achieving sports models with the necessary firmness to achieve the best performance and at the same time comfortable, adapting perfectly to the cyclist's physiognomy.
Now Fizik evolves the saddle that imposed this new paradigm, the Antares Adaptative, following the innovations that the brand introduced last year in its traditionally made Antares. The new Fizik Antares Adaptative features a wider anti-prostate central depression as well as the nose area.

However, the real novelty lies in the 3D manufacturing itself, which now offers differentiated firmness levels depending on the area of the saddle thanks to a DLS or Digital Light Synthesis printing system that bases the additive process on the use of ultraviolet light and liquid resins that harden with the action of light and with which the desired and differentiated behavior and finish can be achieved in each area of the saddle.
Fizik manufactures this Antares Adaptative in two width options, 140 and 150 mm, and R1 versions, the top of the range, which features oval carbon rails and stops the scale, in the narrower alternative, at 140 grams, undoubtedly a very competitive weight for a 3D printed saddle that, normally, tends to be heavier than its conventional counterparts.
Fizik will also offer an Antares Adaptative R3, in this case with Kium titanium rails whose weight rises to 220 grams in its narrower option. The price of the R1 model is €299 while the R3 option is €259.
