The Orbea Monegros 2025 introduces winners
In a day marked by strong winds, Andrey Amador and Pilar Fernández were the absolute winners of the main race in an edition that will go down in history for the large number of participants and fans, as well as the arrival of official classifications.
Since its start in Grañén in 1999, the Orbea Monegros has not stopped growing to become one of the most important mountain bike events in Europe. This year, the anniversary was celebrated with notable novelties, such as the official trophy presentation to the overall winners, always maintaining the popular spirit that characterizes the event.

The 25th anniversary was also an occasion to pay tribute to those who have made the continuous success of the event possible: the municipalities of Grañén, Albalatillo, Sena, Villanueva de Sijena, Castejón de Monegros, Valfarta, Peñalba and Sariñena, along with thousands of volunteers, local associations, and security forces.
Special mention was given to Juan Carlos Nájera, the race director and true driving force, who, moved, recalled: "This crazy dream that started 25 years ago is still alive thanks to the love of a magical land and thousands of people who have made it possible."
The event, which brought together almost 8,000 participants, between the 113-kilometer Marathon race and the 86-kilometer Half Marathon, passed through some of the iconic landscapes of the area, such as the Cobeta hill.
The former professional cyclist Andrey Amador delivered a stellar performance, completing the course in 3 hours, 26 minutes, and 21 seconds, one of the best times in the history of the event. "It was a beautiful but tough race, especially because of the headwind," confessed the Costa Rican, who rode solo from kilometer 25. The male podium was completed by Luis Ángel Maté and Ismael Ventura.
In the women's category, Pilar Fernández, from the ISB team, achieved victory with a time of 4 hours, 21 minutes, and 21 seconds. "I had never been in such a crowded race. It was spectacular and I will repeat," she said after her triumph. Her strategy of saving energy in the early stages to attack at the end was decisive.
The Orbea Monegros will continue to be one of the benchmark events in the future, and its director pointed towards the future: "we will continue to evolve without losing the essence: being the great cycling party for everyone."
