Andreas Seewald and Adelheid Morath wins the European XCM Championship
The Italian town of Casella was the setting for the European XCM Championship 2025 on Sunday, June 8. Under a radiant sun and on a technical and demanding course—83 kilometers and 2,600 meters of positive elevation gain—the Germans Andreas Seewald and Adelheid Morath were crowned new continental champions after impressive displays of strength and strategy.

The men's race started with intensity at 9:30 am, and it quickly became clear that there would be no room for speculation. On the first ramps of Pian di Reste, Andreas Seewald—already a world champion—took control. Several Italians followed closely behind him, with Andrea Siffredi and Dario Cherchi standing out, both highly motivated to race at home.
The key moment came in the ascent to Passo della Bocchetta. It was there that Seewald launched his final attack, opening a gap that no one could close. He crossed the finish line with a time of 3:43:29, taking the gold and keeping the continental title in German hands (last year it was won by Lukas Baum).
Behind him, Andrea Siffredi (+2:34) secured a commendable silver after resisting the final attacks, while Gioele De Cosmo (+3:28) claimed the bronze in a solid team performance. In total, Italy placed six riders in the top ten, confirming their strength in the discipline.
