Amflow launches the PX and PR starting at €4,500, with up to 150 Nm, removable battery, and full geometry adjustment

Amflow, the e-bike brand from DJI, expands its eMTB range with two new platforms that revolve around the same idea: to offer more power without having to take on more weight or lose autonomy. The new Amflow PX and PR arrive supported by the evolution of the Avinox M2 system and a global redesign that affects both the frame and the management of energy and geometry.

The Amflow PX and PR aim to balance power, autonomy, and weight with the new Avinox system and a fully adjustable configuration

More than just a simple increase in performance, what the brand proposes is a more balanced set where each element is designed to support that leap in power.

The new Amflow PX and PR share a base, but they do not seek exactly the same thing. The PX is clearly focused on performance, while the PR introduces greater versatility, especially regarding the battery and prolonged use.

In practice, this translates into two ways of understanding the same bike. The PX opts for an integrated battery that prioritizes stiffness and integration, while the PR introduces a removable battery, something that was not present in the Avinox ecosystem until now.

This detail significantly changes the actual use of the bike, as it allows charging the battery outside the frame or even carrying spares on long routes.

New Avinox M2 and M2S motors with more power and control

The most important change is in the motors. Avinox introduces two new units that clearly elevate the level compared to what has been seen so far in eMTB.

The M2S, which is mounted on the most advanced models, reaches 150 Nm of torque and peaks of up to 1,500 W. These figures are well above what is usual in the segment, where it is normal to stay well below.

The M2, which equips the more accessible versions, offers 125 Nm and 1,100 W, but maintains the same focus on assistance management.

Beyond the numbers, the key is in how that power is delivered. The system uses sensors and algorithms to ensure that the assistance is progressive and controllable, which is fundamental when handling such high figures, especially in technical areas.

Both motors include four assistance modes and a Boost mode that allows using all the power for a maximum of 60 seconds, although with the new application, intermediate modes can be created, which is very important when we have so much power available. The noise level is also noteworthy, remaining low, which is still important in this type of bike.

4-bar system and adjustable geometry

For these new Amflow models, the brand has opted for a 4-bar suspension system that has been revised and adjusted together with FOX, aiming to improve efficiency while pedaling and reduce interference in the transmission.

The rear shock has been adjusted to improve initial sensitivity and better filter small irregularities, which is important when riding at higher speeds.

One of the most interesting points of Amflow's approach is the level of adjustment that the platform allows. It is not limited to small changes but introduces a complete system that directly affects the bike's behavior depending on the terrain, generating up to 40 different geometry combinations on the same bike.

The steering angle starts at 64.2° and can be modified using adjustable cups in five positions, with variations of -1°, -0.5°, 0°, +0.5°, and +1°. This allows shifting the geometry towards a more aggressive approach, gaining stability at high speeds, or towards a more vertical position that improves agility in technical areas and efficiency in climbs.

In addition to this adjustment, the bottom bracket height can be configured in two positions, 345 mm or 349 mm. The high position facilitates passage through broken areas and reduces the risk of impacts with the terrain, while the low position lowers the center of gravity and improves cornering support. This system works alongside a flip chip adjustment at the pivot, expanding the total range of variation.

Finally, the rear stays are also adjustable in four positions, with a range that goes approximately from 438 mm to 451 mm. This adjustment allows modifying the balance between stability and reactivity, as well as maintaining compatibility with 29-inch rear wheels.

As standard, both come with a mullet configuration with a 29-inch front wheel and a 27.5-inch rear wheel, although the system allows changing configurations without altering the overall balance of the frame.

Weight kept within the full power segment

One of the most striking points is the weight. The PX weighs around 20 kg and the PR around 22 kg. These are interesting figures considering the power of the motors and the capacity of the batteries. Many eMTBs with similar approaches easily exceed these weights.

The use of carbon frames helps maintain that balance, with declared weights of 2.4 kg in the PX and 2.9 kg in the PR.

New removable batteries

The PX uses a 700 Wh integrated battery with high energy density. According to the provided data, it can reach up to 144 km of autonomy in controlled conditions.

Additionally, it incorporates fast charging that allows recovering 80 percent in just over an hour.

The PR introduces a removable 800 Wh battery that weighs around 4 kg. This system allows not only charging it outside the bike but also quickly swapping it.

There is also the option to mount an additional 600 Wh battery as a second unit, which greatly extends autonomy on long routes.

Digital integration and new functions

The Avinox system includes an integrated OLED touchscreen in the frame from which all bike information can be controlled.

One of the new features is the ability to load routes and follow navigation directly from the screen without needing to have the phone connected.

A heart rate control function is also introduced. The system can automatically adjust the assistance to keep the cyclist within a certain effort zone, something more common in training than in recreational use.

In the case of the PR, there is also the possibility of locating the bike through the Apple system.

Amflow PX and PR: models, prices, and availability

The range is structured into two platforms, PX and PR, with a total of four models. The PR series starts as the most accessible option with a removable battery, while the PX positions itself in the more performance-oriented segment with an integrated battery. In terms of price, the range starts from €4,499 for the PR Carbon and goes up to €9,999 for the PX Carbon Pro, thus covering a wide range within the high-performance eMTB segment.

The combination of very powerful motors, adjustable geometry, and solutions like the removable battery points to a broader use, from long routes to a more technical approach in the mountains.

It will be interesting to see how all this performs in real use, but on paper, it is an interesting move within a segment that continues to seek that balance between performance, weight, and autonomy.
