Alejandro Valverde sounds like the Spanish national cycling team coach
A few days ago, there was a change in leadership at the helm of the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation, which had been presided over for the last twelve years by José Luis López Cerrón. Now, José Vicioso, who is also the president of the Madrid Cycling Federation, takes over the leadership.

The new president of the RFEC hints at structural changes
In his inauguration speech as president of the RFEC, José Vicioso hinted at changes within the Federation. Following this, several sports newspapers reported that one of the main changes being considered would be a change in leadership of the Spanish Cycling Team, led since 2018 by Pascual Montparler.
Montparler's intention would be to remain linked to the RFEC but in a different role. It is worth noting that Pascual Montparler is also responsible for organizing the Jaén Paraíso Interior and the Benidorm CX World Cup event.

For some time now, the RFEC has had a candidate to replace the Valencian at the helm of the Spanish Team. That candidate is none other than Alejandro Valverde, who is nearing the end of his contract with Movistar, under whose colors he continued to compete sporadically in gravel racing and also carried out technical duties within the team.
In any case, for now, the topic remains a matter of comments and rumors that will be clarified with the arrival of the new year. What do you think, will Valverde be the coach that Spain needs to compete for medals again?
