Van Aert is out in Mol, delaying once again his debut in cyclocross and leaving us without the first showdown with Van der Poel
The long-awaited return of Wout van Aert to competition will have to wait once again. Team Visma Lease a Bike has announced that the Belgian will not be at the Superprestige de Mol due to illness, and the start of his CX season is postponed until December 27th.
Wout van Aert will not be at the Superprestige de Mol due to illness
"Unfortunately, Wout van Aert has fallen ill and will not recover in time for tomorrow's race in Mol. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in action soon." With this message, Visma Lease a Bike announced that Van Aert's cyclocross season is postponed due to a new setback.

The Mol event had generated a lot of excitement as it was the first race in which Van Aert was going to compete after his accident in the past La Vuelta. It was supposed to be his debut this season in cyclocross and also the first of the four opportunities we were going to have to see him compete alongside Van der Poel.
