Adidas strengthens its commitment to professional cycling with a new sponsorship agreement alongside Alpecin-Premier Tech and Fenix-Premier Tech. The German brand will be the official supplier of casual clothing for both teams in a multi-year collaboration that will begin during the second half of the 2026 season.

Adidas returns to elite cycling with Alpecin-Premier Tech and Fenix-Premier Tech as new partner teams

The agreement, jointly announced by Adidas and Wielerteam Ciclismo Mundial BV, the company managing both structures, does not affect competition equipment. The collaboration focuses exclusively on the clothing that riders and staff members will wear outside of races: garments for travel, training, official events, and leisure time, including sweatshirts, tracksuits, shoes, casual wear, and accessories.

Adidas has confirmed that the line will be based on its ZNE collection, a range designed to reinforce the sense of belonging within the team and unite athletic performance with lifestyle.

Philip Roodhooft, general manager of Alpecin-Premier Tech and Fenix-Premier Tech, emphasized that the collaboration goes beyond a simple sponsorship.

“At Alpecin-Premier Tech and Fenix-Premier Tech, we believe that the best collaborations are built on shared ambitions. Adidas is one of the most iconic sports brands in the world, with a tradition of innovation and excellence that speaks for itself. We are proud to welcome Adidas as a partner and excited to be part of the Adidas family. Together, we hope to build a long-term collaboration that helps our athletes maximize their potential every day”.

From Adidas, they also valued the agreement as an important step within their strategy to increase their presence in professional cycling. Kerryn Foster, General Manager Specialist Sport of the company, explained that the choice of both teams responds to their results as well as the level of their riders.

“We are delighted to collaborate with Alpecin-Premier Tech and Fenix-Premier Tech and proud to see our brand represented by two teams that continue to gain prominence on the international circuit thanks to world-class cyclists like Mathieu van der Poel, Jasper Philipsen, Charlotte Kool, and Puck Pieterse. The three stripes have a long tradition in cycling, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen it both with this collaboration and in the future”.

Adidas reinforces its presence in cycling while Nike announces it would be willing to enter a WorldTour team as a main sponsor

Although it may seem like a novel addition to many, Adidas already had a prominent presence in professional cycling during the second half of the 20th century, supplying clothing and accessories to riders and teams since the 1960s.

With this new move, the German company seeks to regain prominence in a sport that has significantly increased its commercial appeal in recent years and in which its main competitor Nike has just announced that it is seriously considering making a big bet on cycling.
