A new Specialized gravel bike has been spotted
The publications that many cyclists make in the days leading up to the Unbound Gravel that takes place next weekend. In this case, the origin has been the social networks of the Specialized cyclist Annika Langvad, where she can be seen recognizing the tracks around Emporia on a bike that appears to be a pre-series of the new Specialized Diverge.
Specialized puts the finishing touches on its new Diverge, its most versatile gravel bike
Just as it happens in the Tour de France with road bikes, many brands reserve the dates of the Unbound Gravel to have the greatest possible impact on the launch of their new gravel products. On this occasion, it is Specialized who seems to have a good bike in the works, as seen on the brand's cyclist Annika Langvad's Instagram account.
A few fleeting images posted in a story but that allow us to guess the novelties that the new Specialized Diverge may include, the versatile gravel-focused model within the range of the Californian brand. A bike that was due for a refresh after 5 years on the market in the current version currently on sale.

During these years, Specialized has taken the opportunity to renew its Crux in 2021, its cyclocross bike now transformed into a gravel/cx competition bike. On the other hand, in 2022 we met its new Diverge STR with its peculiar rear suspension system.
The new bike shown in Annika Langvad's post maintains many external similarities with the current Diverge, although, surely, the frame has nothing to do with its lamination and the carbon used. What stands out the most is that the bike continues to rely on the FutureShock suspension system in the steering, which, on the other hand, requires external routing of the brake hoses.
Also, in an adaptation to the market trend, Specialized incorporates the UDH type derailleur hanger that allows the use of the full mount system of the 13v SRAM Red AXS XPLR group. Multiple threads can also be observed on the fork and frame, in line with the versatile gravel and bikepacking focus of this bike, something that also allows us to assume that Specialized will have also increased its wheel clearance to adapt to the current gravel trend.
In any case, until Specialized officially presents the bike, we will not be able to know exactly its characteristics. For now, we can only imagine based on leaked images in what seems to be an intentional marketing move to generate excitement about what appears to be an imminent launch.
