A draft of the UCI MTB 2027 calendar has been leaked. A World Cup XCO in Spain?
The UCI is already working on the international MTB calendar for 2027, and everything points to the XCO World Cup experiencing a new expansion. The World Series circuit would increase from the 9 events planned for 2026 to a total of 12 rounds, in an even more demanding season for teams, riders, and technical structures, with a calendar that is practically continuous from April to October.
The XCO World Cup would grow to 12 rounds in 2027, and dates for the World Championship and European Championship have leaked
Although it will still be weeks or months before the UCI makes the final calendar official, a preliminary version has leaked, which has been reported by the Italian media Pianetamountainbike. This draft already shows how the season would be structured and confirms the intention to continue expanding the importance of the World Series circuit within international MTB.

More rounds in Europe and three intercontinental trips
According to this draft, the World Cup would maintain three blocks outside of Europe, with a date at the beginning of May, similar to what we experienced in South Korea this year, and two dates at the end of the calendar, which are usually the usual events in North America.

The big change would be in Europe. The number of European events would grow to nine, with an opening planned for April 17 and 18 at a venue still to be confirmed, but rumors place it in the Iberian Peninsula, something that could make us dream of a long-awaited World Cup in Spain, about which we have already had news. The rest of the European calendar highlights several consecutive weekends of competition during June and July, something that will test the logistics of the teams.
