850€ fine for Nino Schurter and Lars Forster for storming the podium in Araxá
As we already imagined, the response from the organization and the UCI regarding the "incident" on the podium of the last World Cup in Araxá has not been delayed. Nino Schurter and Lars Forster have been fined 850€ for climbing the podium in protest of the unilateral elimination of the classic 5-podium in mountain bike.
Schurter and Forster receive the highest fine of the weekend in Araxá
The organization has sent a statement to the teams with all the fines and sanctions imposed during the past weekend in Araxá for non-compliance with current regulations. Among them, for example, there are more than 20 bikers fined 30 Swiss francs for throwing bottles and waste in unauthorized areas, or 100 francs for Savilia Blunk for not respecting the starting rules.

But the highlight of the weekend goes to Nino Schurter and Lars Forster, where the organization, far from reaching an agreement with the riders, has decided to apply the new podium regulations, against which the entire grid is protesting, to fine the two Swiss riders with 800 francs (850€) for "climbing the podium without the organization's permission."
