3T unexpectedly includes the UDH standard in more models
At the end of December, 3T surprised us with the renewal of its Strada road model, which returned to the essence that made it the first road bike designed exclusively for a single chainring, equipping it with a UDH derailleur hanger and the SRAM Red AXS XPLR 13-speed groupset. Now, the Italian brand extends this derailleur hanger standard to its renowned Racemax Italia, one of the pioneers of gravel bikes that is now up to date with this update.
3T updates its Racemax Italia gravel bike to be able to use the 13-speed SRAM groupset
A big surprise in the 3T range after the brand announced that, from now on, all its Racemax Italia models will be compatible with the derailleur hanger standard promoted by SRAM, the UDH, which stands for Universal Derailleur Hanger.
Obviously, this allows for the offering of a luxurious assembly, starting with the SRAM Red AXS XPLR 13-speed groupset except for the cranks, where 3T mounts its exquisite Torno cranks. The assembly is completed with Zipp 303 XPLR SW wheels and a frame decorated only with a subtle lacquer and minimal brand logos on the down tube, which the brand calls Project X, showcasing the carbon weave of a frame made entirely in their Italian factory in Bergamo starting from the carbon thread through RTM technology, a true gem of cycling craftsmanship.

A spectacular top-of-the-line assembly with a price tag to match at €12,100. 3T also offers an assembly with the same groupset and similar components but painted in a beautiful lime color, called Evo, slightly more affordable at €11,999. A decoration that, even with color, maintains a "window" only lacquered on the top of the top tube that allows you to see the spectacular carbon weave of this bike.
In any case, the full compatibility of the UDH system with conventional derailleurs allows for the offering of assemblies with other groupsets including SRAM Force AXS, Shimano GRX in a double chainring configuration, and the more economical option, which opts for SRAM Rival AXS and 3T Discus wheels, priced at €7,940.
Of course, there is also the option to purchase the frame separately, which is priced at €5,572 and is available in both the lime color and the exposed carbon seen in the top-of-the-line options.
This modification brings the pioneering gravel bike to the forefront as this Racemax Italia is nothing but the evolution of the original 3T Exploro, still in the catalog today under the name Primo, and was one of the first truly versatile and sporty gravel bikes that also had the added benefit of its aerodynamic tubes for a bit more performance.
