21 XCO teams applied for a spot and only 8 got it: Les Gets becomes the most coveted World Cup of the year
The UCI and Warner Bros. have just announced the 16 teams selected by invitation to compete in the 13th round of the MTB World Cup 2025, which will take place from August 28 to 31 in Les Gets, Haute-Savoie (France). Eight Cross-country teams and eight Downhill teams have been invited to the French event, one of the most iconic on the calendar.
Les Gets becomes the World Cup with the most applications to participate
While the eight teams that applied for a spot in the Downhill World Cup have been accepted, the battle to enter the Cross-country has been the most intense of the season: only 8 out of the 21 applications have been selected. Among the chosen ones stands out Sunn Factory Racing, which will debut as a team for the first time in this championship edition.
The French team, focused on youth development, has seven riders and a long history in UCI competitions. Some of its members have already participated in events this season thanks to their individual UCI points. Yannis Musy and Flavie Guille, the most prominent names in the team, have debuted this year in the elite category, while Alix Andre Gallis, only 19 years old, has shone in the under-23 category with sixth place finishes in Pal Arinsal (Andorra) and Saalfelden Leogang (Austria).
