15,000 euros, 7 kg, and 6-spoke wheels: this is the spectacular Bike Ahead Superfast
There are lightweight, exclusive, and expensive gravel bikes, but few manage to combine these three concepts in such an extreme way as the new Bike Ahead Superfast Edition 15. The German brand celebrates its 15 years of history with a special edition of its competition gravel bike, equipped with its unmistakable six-spoke wheels and limited to only 15 units.
Bike Ahead creates a spectacular gravel bike costing 15,000 euros and will only manufacture 15 units
The price of the complete build is around 15,000 euros, and behind this figure is a bike made in Germany, with numerous proprietary carbon components and details taken to the extreme to reduce weight.

A gravel bike created to celebrate Bike Ahead's 15 years
Bike Ahead was founded on July 7, 2011, by Christian Gemperlein and has built much of its image around the manufacturing of ultralight carbon components.

One of its most recognizable products is the BITURBO wheels. Its six-spoke design originally started as a unique piece developed by Gemperlein for his final project and ended up becoming one of the company's hallmarks.
Fifteen years later, the brand has gathered some of the most important elements of its history in the Superfast Edition 15.

«With the SUPERFAST Edition 15, we present the culmination of 15 years of Bike Ahead, with classic details that reflect our journey from foundation to becoming a globally recognized high-tech manufacturer», explains Christian Gemperlein.
The decoration combines black with the Acid Green used by the brand on a 6.8 kg bike presented at Eurobike 2014. The characteristic arrows of Bike Ahead and various visual references to the company's early products also appear.
A monocoque carbon frame weighing only 835 grams
The basis of this special edition is the frame of the Bike Ahead Superfast. It is made in Germany using a one-piece monocoque construction, and its lighter version claims a weight of 835 grams in size M.
The brand claims that this manufacturing technique allows for optimizing the continuity and orientation of the carbon fibers to achieve high power transfer.
The frame accommodates tires up to 53 mm and is available in four sizes: S, M, L, and XL. It also allows choosing between a Press Fit bottom bracket or a threaded T47 and features a completely integrated cable system.
Bike Ahead takes the quest for lightness to practically insignificant elements within the total weight of a bike. The bottle cage screws, for example, are made of perforated titanium and weigh only 1.06 grams.
The Superfast can drop below 7 kg in its lightest configurations, although this Edition 15 claims a weight of 7.20 kg in size M due to its specific build.
The six-spoke wheels are the main stars
If there is one component that can make this bike immediately recognizable, it is its Bike Ahead BITURBO Gravel Aero wheels.
Their six-spoke carbon structure completely departs from the conventional wheels typically used in gravel, and for this special edition, the brand has revived the 3K woven carbon finish used in the first BITURBO from 2011.

The wheels also receive a specific decoration with the Bike Ahead logos and the 15th anniversary emblem in Acid Green.
To complete one of the most peculiar builds currently found in a competition gravel bike, Bike Ahead has installed Schwalbe Thunder Burt tires measuring 2.1 inches and 53 mm in width.
This choice further demonstrates how the boundaries between gravel bikes and rigid MTBs are becoming increasingly blurred.
A bike that is not purchased like any other
The Bike Ahead Superfast Edition 15 will only be available as a complete bike.
The build includes the SRAM Red XPLR group with 1x13 transmission, 10-46 cassette and cranks available in lengths of 165, 170, and 172.5 mm with an integrated power meter.
The braking is handled by SRAM Red XPLR with 160 mm discs front and rear.
Much of the rest of the components come from Bike Ahead's own catalog. The bike is equipped with the THE FORK Edition 15 fork, the THE HYPERSADDLE Edition 15 saddle and seatpost set, and the integrated THE COCKPIT Edition 15 cockpit.

This last one can even be requested with a custom geometry, allowing for the combination of different handlebar widths, stem lengths, and drop measurements.
The exclusivity of the Superfast Edition 15 does not end with its limited production of 15 bikes.
Each buyer will personally receive their bike during a private visit to the Bike Ahead factory in Würzburg led by Christian Gemperlein himself.
The price also includes a professional biomechanical study to adapt the bike to the new owner and an 80-page book with photographs and information about the history and development of the Superfast.

The bike can only be ordered through the Bike Ahead online store, although the company offers international shipping.
