Shimano promotes the creation of MTB trails with the international expansion of Trail Born
The program is part of a ten-year commitment endowed with 10 million dollars, aimed at improving the overall mountain biking experience through direct investment in trail infrastructure, advocacy organizations, and the communities that manage them. The philosophy of Trail Born is to act from the ground up and support both the creation and maintenance of trail networks as well as the local fabric that makes them possible.

Since August 2024, Trail Born has supported 18 projects in various regions around the world. According to data provided by the brand, the initiative has helped finance 78 kilometers of new trails and has participated in the construction of a pump track of over 1300 square meters.

The actions have taken place in North America, Europe, South Africa, and Oceania, with several of these projects set to debut in the spring of 2026, increasing the total mileage available to users.
Interest in the program continues to grow. For 2026, 45 proposals were received from groups and associations linked to trail development worldwide, of which 21 have been ultimately selected.

Among the main geographic focuses are:
- South America: entry into the region with projects in Brazil and Mexico.
- Asia: new actions in Japan, South Korea, and Indonesia.
- Europe: planned projects in France, Norway, Spain, and Italy, as well as a new development in Scotland and continued support in the United Kingdom.
- North America: new initiatives in California, Oregon, and Vermont, along with a Canadian project in Quebec.
With this expansion, Trail Born broadens its network of collaboration with local trail builders and mountain bike promotion organizations, reinforcing its strategy for responsible growth.
Shimano emphasizes that Trail Born is not limited to building kilometers of trails, but seeks to consolidate sustainable cycling ecosystems, promoting access to nature and community development around MTB. The initiative aims to ensure that the growth of the sport occurs in an inclusive and environmentally respectful manner.
