Zwift Ride, a new smart stationary bike always ready for training
Smart indoor bikes are usually the best option for those who have no choice but to do intensive indoor workouts in order to be in good shape when they go out with their real bike. However, they are usually expensive and bulky bikes, or at least they were, until the arrival of this new Zwift Ride, the perfect complement for our pain cave.
Complement your smart trainer with Zwift Ride
Making using Zwift more comfortable and simple is the goal that the virtual platform pursues with the launch, in collaboration with Wahoo, of its new Zwift Ride, a smart indoor bike for training indoors but with a very different concept from this type of bikes already on the market.
The Zwift Ride is not a complete system but works alongside a conventional Wahoo Kickr Core roller, initially launched together. Its function is therefore to have an exclusive bike for use on the roller and designed specifically for this use, so that we will always have the whole system ready to simply turn on the computer, start Zwift, and start pedaling. Something like many do with their old bikes that are dedicated solely to the roller.

With this concept, Zwift manages to greatly reduce the cost of the system so that the Kickr Core roller and the Zwift Ride bike will cost €1,299, a figure much lower than the smart indoor bikes on the market. For example, the Wahoo Kickr Bike Shift has a price of €2,999.
The Zwift Ride has been designed to be clean, quiet, and extremely easy to adjust and configure, in addition to having all the necessary controls on its handlebars to manage Zwift.
The adjustment of the Zwift Ride is carried out using the Zwift Key, a single key that serves to adjust the position of all the elements of the bike so that we can exactly copy the measurements of our conventional bike, allowing quick and easy adaptation for cyclists in a height range between 1.52 and 1.98 m, making it a perfect element in environments where several people use Zwift.
From the handlebars, it is possible to navigate through the application menus, give Ride On, use Powerups, etc. without having to use the Zwift Companion application on the mobile phone. Of course, it also allows changing gears using Zwift's virtual gear system that we can customize to our liking, even choosing whether we want it to work Shimano or SRAM style.
The Zwift Ride also has two indoor bottle holders that allow the bottle to be removed and placed more easily, and also has a small tray to have the phone, gels, or anything else we need during our roller session at hand. In addition, we can separately purchase a useful integrated support for our tablet if this is the system we use to run Zwift. A support that will have a price of €49.99.
Both the Zwift Ride along with the Kickr Core roller, and the optional tablet support will be available for purchase from the Zwift website starting on June 26th.
