Zwift embarks on a new stage in its evolution as a platform with a season full of innovations that go far beyond just adding content. The company has just presented all its news and its commitment to improving the user experience both inside and outside the simulator, with new planning tools, more customization, and a clear opening towards gravel and outdoor cycling.

Zwift launches its most ambitious season with gravel, smart planning, and a leap outdoors

One of the most relevant changes comes in the form of smart recommendations that evolve the use of the application. From now on, the platform analyzes the recent history and preferences of each user to suggest specific activities within Zwift Companion. The idea is to reduce decision-making time and facilitate that each session has a clear objective. This logic also extends outdoors, as during the summer months, suggestions for outdoor rides will be incorporated, marking a further step in the integration between virtual training and real cycling.

Plan Your Week in Zwift Companion (available in April)

In that same line of organization, Zwift introduces a weekly planning feature directly from Companion. Users will be able to structure their workouts, routes, or events and clearly visualize their future workload. Additionally, the system will take that planning into account to further refine recommendations, generating proposals consistent with each week's objectives. Synchronization with external platforms reinforces this ecosystem, allowing digital training not to be an isolated environment.

Zwift Camp: Breakthrough (April 6 – May 17)

The calendar also relies on new blocks of structured content. The Zwift Camp Breakthrough will be the last major program of the winter season and will focus on preparing the transition to outdoor cycling. Beyond pure performance, the focus includes aspects such as technique or bike control, with the goal of translating real improvements to the road or mountain.

Customize Your HUD for Workouts (Launching in May)

In parallel, the training experience within the simulator will be more customizable. Zwift will allow users to modify the visible data during workouts, choosing from 13 biometric metrics, such as cadence (RPM), core body temperature, or power-to-weight ratio (W/kg), among others. Being able to choose which parameters to visualize at any moment represents a leap in training control and effort reading.

Gravel Mountain (available from April 6)

The major novelty in terms of scenarios comes with Gravel Mountain, the first map designed exclusively for this discipline. Zwift thus reinforces its commitment to gravel with a specific environment that introduces new driving sensations. The terrain, wider and looser, along with elements like banked curves or rocky sections, aims to replicate an experience closer to the real behavior of these types of surfaces. This launch is accompanied by new competitions focused on gravel, with a specific series that mixes intensity and continuous competitive format.

More Levels for Running and Cycling (available in April)

The growth of the platform is also reflected in its progression system. Zwift removes the level cap in cycling and expands it for running, opening the door to new long-term goals. This expansion not only increases the lifespan of the experience system but also introduces new recognition elements for more advanced users.

Tour Fever Challenge (July 2 – August 16)

Looking ahead to summer, Zwift will once again rely on the Tour de France with a specific challenge that will bring the race atmosphere to the virtual environment. This content is complemented by the expansion of the Paris map, which will include the ascent to Montmartre. It is a short but demanding climb that adds a new point of technical and tactical interest within the circuit.

The virtual equipment ecosystem also grows with a deep renewal of the Drop Shop. The arrival of new bikes and wheels, especially focused on gravel in the first launches, reinforces the feeling of progression and customization within the game.

Zwift Challenges Go Outdoors (available this summer)

Finally, Zwift takes an important step by bringing its challenges outside the digital environment. The possibility of completing challenges by combining indoor and outdoor sessions confirms the brand's strategy to connect both worlds in a single training experience.

With this set of innovations, Zwift not only expands its content catalog but also redefines the role it wants to occupy within cycling training. The incorporation of smarter tools, the customization of the experience, and the commitment to disciplines like gravel consolidate an increasingly complete platform adapted to different user profiles. But the real fundamental change lies in its ability to transcend the screen. Zwift stops being just a virtual environment to become a bridge to real cycling, integrating both worlds into a single training logic. The next step is no longer just to ride within the simulator but to transfer all that work directly to the road or mountain.
