Where do professional cyclists go on vacation?
The cycling season is becoming longer and more demanding, which means that in the short time between the end of the campaign and the start of training for the next one, cyclists make the most of their vacations. This is how cycling stars disconnect during these days.
How professionals disconnect from cycling after a long season
With the road and mountain biking seasons over, and with a transfer market that has closed early this season leaving almost all teams complete, and while we wait for the cyclocross season to truly begin with the arrival of the World Cup, these weeks are when competition takes a back seat.

These weeks are also a time when professional cyclists are more in the news for where they are enjoying their vacations rather than what they are doing on the bike. Unless, for example, your name is Tom Pidcock, who took a few days in Hawaii to break the Maua Kea KOM record.
However, it is not the norm, and professionals try to find more or less exotic destinations where they can enjoy a few days at the beach when cold and rainy autumn weather is already common in Europe. This is the case of Tadej Pogacar and Urska Zigart who escaped to the Seychelles Islands; even Tom Pidckock, before the mentioned getaway, also enjoyed a few days with his girlfriend in the Maldives. The Italian Letizia Paternoster also opted for the beach, in her case in Dubai.
Mountain bike cyclists also mostly opt for beach destinations, such as Loana Lecomte who chose Mauritius for her vacation.
Remco Evenepoel, on the other hand, chose to visit his girlfriend Oumi's home country, Morocco, where he showed on his Instagram account that he was perfectly integrated, serving tea dressed in a Moroccan national team jersey, recalling his beginnings as a footballer.

Almost as exotic as the choice made by mountain biking stars Nino Schurter and Malene Degn, who have been traveling Namibia in a camperized 4x4.
It is a different case for South American cyclists who, obviously, take advantage of the end of the season to return to their home countries where they usually cannot travel throughout the year to enjoy a few days of rest and their hobbies with their families. This is the case of Richard Carapaz, who showed on his social media dressed as a fisherman returning to the Ecuadorian region of Carchi where he is originally from.
