What is the Zwift Cog?
As alternatives to the virtual cycling platform Zwift emerge, it does not stand still and extends its virtual gear shifting technology that enhances the user experience to other roller brands in order to attract more users to this platform.
Zwift Cog is now available for rollers from other brands
At the end of last year Zwift updated its roller by replacing the usual cassette with a single cog, called Zwift Cog which, through the wireless remote control Zwift Click, eliminated the mechanical gear shifting and replaced it with a virtual one that we could configure to our liking making it possible for a better user experience with faster gear changes and being able to adapt the development to the needs of the route we were going to face.
Now Zwift has adapted this technology to other roller brands. A few days ago it was Decathlon who launched a version of its Van Rysel D100 roller with Zwift Cog incorporated as standard, and now Zwift begins to sell from its web store the Zwift Cog as an upgrade kit for rollers from the brands Wahoo, JetBlack, Van Rysel, Elite and, of course, for the previous versions of their own rollers for which it was already available.

The Zwift Cog V2 is marketed in two versions, pre-assembled on a core, an option that is suitable for Wahoo, JetBlack, Van Rysel, and Zwift models for which we will have to remove the core that comes mounted on our roller and replace it with the Zwift Cog kit. In Elite rollers, the Zwift Cog is mounted directly on the roller core, removing the cassette and placing the Zwift Cog in its place with spacers to keep it centered. This option of mounting on the existing core is also valid for other compatible brands. In both cases, Zwift has explanatory videos on its website that make assembly very simple.
After this, we only have to link the remote in the Zwift application as we would with any other device like the heart rate monitor strap, power meter, or the roller itself and configure in it the range of developments we want in our bike with 24 virtual gears that we activate sequentially without having to use the bike's gears with the problems that can arise from missing a shift or the chain coming off at the most inopportune moment.
The Zwift Cog V2 upgrade kit is now available on the Zwift website and both the version with included core and the one that mounts on the existing core have a price of 79.99 €
