Vingegaard gets on the bike a month after the accident and he wants to be at the start of the Tour
The multiple accident on April 4 in the Itzulia left some of the top favorites for the 2024 Tour injured, including current champion Jonas Vingegaard. After 12 days in the hospital, he was able to continue his recovery at home and today, a month later, he was able to get on the bike for the first time.

After the accident, the Dane was hospitalized for almost 2 weeks at the Vitoria Hospital, several days in the ICU, for a pneumothorax and a fracture in the clavicle and several ribs. But soon he was able to continue his recovery at home and now, for the first time, he himself speaks about his participation in the Tour.

From the very beginning, Team Visma - Lease a Bike took the pressure off their leader and made it clear that the Dane's participation in the Tour was not a priority after the accident. Now it is Jonas himself through Visma's social media who has been seen training on the bike and explaining that he will try to be at the start of the Tour de France and will do everything possible to arrive in the best possible shape.
