Victor Koretzky wins the Short Track and the XCC World Cup Overall in Mont-Sainte-Anne
The last Short Track of the year started with the Overall Classification still up for grabs between Victor Koretzky and Sam Gaze, adding even more excitement to the race.
From the start, Alan Hahterly set a very high pace that stretched the group, even with attempts to break away from the first lap, but soon we realized that there would be more than one candidate for victory. German Luca Schwarbauer took over the lead and maintained a very high pace in the first half of the race.

New Zealander Sam Gaze had his last chance to challenge for the overall in Mont-Sainte-Anne, but halfway through the race he dropped off the group of favorites and sank behind the Top 20, thus losing any chance of victory.
Victor Koretzky, on the other hand, did not fail, staying among the top 5 until he launched a fierce attack in the last lap that only Mathis Azzaro could join. But Victor Koretzky seemed determined to win and defended his position until the end.
With this victory, Koretzky achieved the last victory of the year in the XCC World Cup and also won the Overall Classification of the discipline. Frenchman Mathis Azzaro came in second and South African Alan Hatherly closed the podium.
