Van Rysel presents the RCX II Pro 'North Star' Edition: ready to win in the mud

They have done it again. First it was their XCO/Marathon competition Rockrider, then on the road with the arrival of the Van Rysel RCR Pro which have become the object of desire for many cyclists, especially after the remarkable 2024 Vuelta a España that Ben O'Connor has had. Now, Decathlon is entering the cyclocross scene with this new Van Rysel RCX II Pro North Star that has all the ingredients to compete at the highest level on muddy circuits and, once again, at a tremendously attractive price for a bike of this level and equipment.

Decathlon adds a top-level cyclocross bike to its catalog

Starting with a super high modulus carbon frame that aims for lightness and maximum stiffness. Of course, being a bike designed for cyclocross competition, this Van Rysel RCX Pro II North Star features a wide front triangle that makes it easier to shoulder the bike to overcome obstacles like stairs, planks, or impossible ramps that are common in cyclocross circuits.

Also designed for competition, it has very wide wheel clearances to prevent mud from accumulating in the seat stays and fork. This also allows for dual use as, with a small change in gearing, it can accommodate gravel tires with a generous 40mm width, and due to its aggressive geometry, it can also be a highly efficient gravel competition bike.

However, it is in the top-notch assembly where this Van Rysel RCX II Pro North Star truly stands out, starting with the SRAM Force AXS groupset which features gearing suitable for use on circuits with a 40-tooth single chainring and a 10-33 cassette. It is important to note that, if you wanted to use it for gravel, the maximum cassette size that this derailleur can accommodate is 36 teeth.

The exceptional assembly continues with a cockpit by Zipp that includes their efficient Service Course aluminum stem combined with the SL70 Ergo Carbon handlebar, a pure, rigid, and simple road handlebar, also by Zipp.

And then we come to the wheels, where DUKE Baccara X-Machine 36T with a 36mm carbon tubular rim and efficient DT Swiss 240 hubs are featured. And, being wheels for tubular tires, Van Rysel takes the opportunity to mount the best on the market, none other than the exquisite Dugast Typhoon, a model with a versatile tread pattern that provides tremendous traction and cornering grip thanks to its handmade cotton casing.
