As we explained in this article, the times when professionals used bikes specially created for this race are behind us, and Mathieu van der Poel is a good example, resorting to the Canyon Aeroad CFR that he has been using throughout the season with some small modifications to mitigate the impact of the cobblestones.

Actually, only one modification: the use of tubeless tires Vittoria Corsa in size 700x32c, probably with the addition of the Vittoria Air Liner Road foam insert that allows him to minimize the risk of pinch flats with the extremely low pressures that professionals use on the cobblestones of Paris-Roubaix to, on one hand, achieve maximum absorption and, on the other hand, maximize grip, especially considering the mud accumulated after weeks of rain in the area, leaving some sections in a very challenging state.

The rest of the bike equipment is the usual, starting with the Shimano Dura-Ace Di2, including the Shimano Dura-Ace C60 high-profile wheels to achieve the highest possible aerodynamics that complement the excellent aerodynamic qualities of the Canyon Aeroad CFR in a race, like the Paris-Roubaix 2024, which will surely be contested at a breathtaking speed.
