A fall in the 2024 Dwars door Vlaanderen while leading the race has disrupted Wout van Aert's entire season. In the accident, the Belgian fractured his collarbone and cracked several ribs, which has prevented him from starting in the Giro, his main goal of the year, and currently only allows him time to focus on his recovery.
