The UCI imposes a rule on the height of socks

The UCI is finalizing all the new regulations that will come into effect in a few months with the 2019 season, and among them there is a very particular one that will dictate how long cyclists' socks should be. Starting next year, cyclists will not be able to wear their socks higher than what the UCI dictates.

UCI sets a maximum height for cyclists' socks

According to the rule, the height of the sock should not exceed half the distance between the center of the cyclist's ankle and the center of the head of the fibula.

As the definition may be a bit unclear, the UCI has accompanied it with an image that leaves no room for doubt. Socks should not go beyond the halfway point between the ankle and the knee.

Although the rule is firm and must be complied with in 2019, the UCI has not specified what sanction will be imposed in case of non-compliance and how it will be enforced.
