Trek tested a new gravel bike at Unbound
A little like what is happening these days in road cycling with the dispute of the Critérium du Dauphiné where several brands are testing the bikes that will be their next releases, in the world of gravel the Unbound, the most important race in the world in this specialty also serves as a testing ground for new bikes like a new Trek that could be the next generation of its Checkpoint model.
Trek will also have a new gravel bike
In a few days when Trek is attracting all the attention with the imminent launch of its new road bike, the one that could be its gravel machine has practically gone unnoticed, a discipline in which the Waterloo brand does not seem to be fully committed and which covers the versatility of its Boone cyclocross bike for the more sporty user, with the good performance of its Checkpoint to satisfy those looking for a more adventurous gravel bike and, of course, we cannot forget the All Road segment in which the brand maintains one of its flagship models, the Domane, which with each generation has been making more nods to gravel.

However, it seems that now Trek does want to have a thoroughbred gravel bike in the form of what could be its new Checkpoint, a new bike that some competitors put to the test during the recently disputed Unbound Gravel.
Some cyclists sponsored by Trek participated in the Unbound Gravel with a bike that, at first glance, was difficult to distinguish from the Checkpoint we know, however, an important detail gave away this new creation: the seatpost was not the traditional mast that the brand's bikes have been using but rather it had a conventional seatpost whose insertion into the frame is lost among the IsoSpeed absorption system that it seems to still maintain.
The bottom bracket area apparently is more robust and the use of an integrated handlebar was observed, which presumably indicates a more competitive approach for this bike that now has a more streamlined look.
In any case, the brand is not giving away any clues and has even joked with a post on its social networks in which it makes the bike disappear in a good close-up photo of one of its cyclists in this race.
