Trek expands its Project One program with new sustainable EnvironOxide paints
Trek has introduced three new color combinations for its Project One Signature customization program, made with sustainable EnvironOxide™ pigments. The new available options are Moondust, Desert Mauve, and Mojave Red, all created with pigments obtained from iron extracted from contaminated riverbeds.
New Project One colors with low-impact paint
These new color combinations are the result of collaboration between Trek's Project One team and Iron Oxide Recovery, Inc., a company specialized in recovering contaminating iron from riverbeds. Thanks to this innovative process, the cleaning of riverbeds is promoted and the need to extract conventional iron oxide minerals for pigment manufacturing is reduced.
The brand explains that these sustainable paints represent only a small part of Trek's global commitment to the environment, but they signify a decisive step towards a more respectful future in terms of design and materials used in bicycle manufacturing. Here you can take a look at Trek's annual environmental report where there are measures as striking as their low-impact aluminum.

With this expansion in their Project One program, customers now have four EnvironOxide™ options available to customize their bike. The first one, Raw Lithos, launched in 2024 alongside the Checkmate SLR, is inspired by arid terrains and dirt roads. The new proposals are characterized by evoking different landscapes: Moondust recalls lunar landscapes with light tones; Desert Mauve combines earthy shades in gray and purple; and Mojave Red stands out for intense reddish, orange, and brown tones typical of deserts.
These paint options are now available on all Trek premium road bike models through Project One. Interested cyclists can design their ideal bike at any authorized Trek dealer around the world.
