This kit converts any dropper post into electronic
Mounting and adjusting traditional dropper posts, depending on the bike, can be a real headache. As with bike gears, electronic shifting simplifies this a lot and also means less maintenance tasks to keep it working properly. Now, the Canadian brand OnlyMotion is building an adaptable kit for a wide range of models that allows transforming the operation of these.
Improve your dropper post with the kit developed by OnlyMotion
Although still in the development phase, thanks to a crowdfunding campaign, the OnlyMotion kit that allows transforming the operation of a good number of dropper posts into electronic seems very advanced. This is an improvement in performance but also in the assembly and maintenance of this component.

The OnlyMotion kit consists of a small bushing with an actuator that is installed at the bottom of the seatpost. This bushing has the necessary electronics to activate the seatpost and to connect with the small button located on the handlebar.
A button that is wirelessly operated, although there is the option to connect it to the seatpost with a thin cable, similar to the one used by Di2 groups to avoid connection problems with some bikes with especially robust structure or paint. Besides, the option of wiring the system allows charging the battery directly through the USB-C port of the lever without the need to remove the seatpost.
Speaking of its battery, it is worth mentioning that a single charge allows about 150 hours of use, which means activating the seatpost about 4,000 times. Of course, the system has IPX7 protection against water and dirt. It will have a starting price of $174 for members who have contributed to the crowdfunding, and as we can see on their Kickstarter page, the development seems to be reaching its final stages.
The brand guarantees full compatibility with OneUp V2 and V3, Fox Transfer, Bontrager Fall Line, and Race Face Turbine R seatposts, and the only thing to consider when installing it on the frame is that we have at least 47 mm free under the seatpost, which is the space the actuator occupies, and the diameter of our seatpost is equal to or greater than the 30.9 mm of the device. The only downside is that, initially, it will only be available to users in Canada and the United States.
