These augmented reality glasses aim to eliminate the earpiece in racing
Having all the information about what happens in the race in real time in front of our eyes could be the dream of cyclists and directors. A possibility that current technology could make possible in a short time in the form of Dragon glasses and the tactical Modo system being developed by an American startup
The startup Draco Intelligence develops augmented reality glasses for cyclists
Tactical augmented reality for competitive cycling. This is how the startup Draco Intelligence defines the set formed by the two products they are developing, augmented reality glasses called Dragon and the tactical Modo system with which the sports director can have real-time awareness of the situation in the race of their cyclists and transmit orders and tactics directly in front of their eyes.
Undoubtedly an ambitious project that would allow surpassing communication through team radios, known as earpieces, and taking it a step further by taking advantage of the possibilities offered by technology.

On one hand, we find the Dragon glasses, a sports model weighing approximately 36 g, capable of integrating with popular cycling platforms such as Garmin Connect, Training Peaks, or Strava, and acting as a cycle computer showing directly the chosen information on the screen of the glasses themselves.
On the other hand, we find Modo, a tactical system designed for team directors in which information about the position or the data collected by the glasses of the different team members can be visualized, and, in turn, allows transmitting orders or instructions, "attack in 50 m", "start the climb in 1 km",... in real time that are shown on the screen of the glasses themselves.
A project that sounds like science fiction but that Draco Intelligence is working to make it a reality. For now, the company is already in contact with several World Tour teams to collaborate in the development of this system and according to the founder of the brand Annika La Vina "it aims to redefine the interaction between teams and cyclists on race day. Tools that improve concentration in defense can also provide cyclists with a tactical advantage".
