"There is a high probability that it will happen": cyclocross could soon be included in the Olympics
The reform of the Winter Olympics has been hovering over the program of this competition for quite some time with the idea of including sports beyond snow and ice but traditionally linked to the winter months. One of these additions would be cyclocross, which could be included in the program of the 2030 Olympic Games to be held in the French Alps.

The IOC and UCI in good harmony for the inclusion of cyclocross in the 2030 Olympics
The International Olympic Committee has been looking to renew the program of the Winter Olympics to open it up to other winter disciplines beyond the usual snow or ice sports that dominate its celebration. A renewal that has received a significant boost from the recently elected IOC president Kirsty Coventry.
Several sports have been rumored to become winter Olympic disciplines, but according to the president of the World Athletics Federation, the legendary Sebastian Coe, cyclocross and cross seem to be the ones with the most chances of becoming part of the Olympic program as early as the event in the French Alps in 2030. There has also been a proposal to move some indoor sports like judo from the summer program to the winter program, although, as Coe hinted in statements to The Guardian, that option is less likely.

Both the president of the UCI, David Lappartient, and Sebastian Coe are strongly pushing for cross and cyclocross to be part of the Winter Olympics, which, organizationally, would be simple as the idea is for both disciplines to share the same course, which, in the case of cross-country running, would serve to open the Winter Games to African countries, traditionally excluded from them.
The inclusion of these disciplines in the Olympic program seems so close that even from La Planche des Belles Filles they have applied to become the venue for these tests for the 2030 Games with former cyclist Thibaut Pinot as the main promoter of the project "in February 2030 I will finally achieve my victory at La Planche" the Frenchman ironically stated.
