The UCI cancels the Gravel World Championship in Nice and has a few months to find another venue
Just eight months before the event, the International Cycling Union (UCI) announced on Tuesday that the 2025 Gravel World Championship will not be held in Nice, France. The World Championship was scheduled for October 18 and 19, and the organization has begun the search for a new venue and is even considering changing the date of the event.

The news comes after a mutual agreement between the UCI and the city of Nice, who recognized the logistical and technical difficulties of organizing the fourth edition of this World Championship in the capital of the French Riviera.
"The UCI and the City of Nice acknowledged the difficulties of organizing the event on those dates, and due to various technical and calendar limitations, it was jointly agreed not to hold the championship in Nice," stated the official communication.
Although the UCI has not provided specific details, they have confirmed that they are already considering "several options" for both the new location and the event organizer.
