Triple world cycling champion Óscar Freire has been found in good condition. His whereabouts were unknown since last Monday and his family reported him missing to the Guardia Civil.

According to the newspaper Diario Montañés, Freire left his home last Tuesday, leaving his belongings there. And according to the newspaper, his vehicle has already been located with no trace of the former cyclist.

The family reported the disappearance on Wednesday morning and the Civil Guard has initiated the search protocol and is investigating the facts.
Born in Torrelavega in 1976, Freire was a professional cyclist from 1998 to 2012, and won three consecutive world championships in 1999, 2001, and 2004. He recently was rumored to be a possible national team coach before Alejandro Valverde was chosen for the position.
