The INEOS team is changing its name, kit, and colors: a new phase focused on artificial intelligence begins
The INEOS Grenadiers team has announced one of the most ambitious agreements in its recent history with the technology company Netcompany. This is a five-year alliance that not only changes the team's name but also introduces a new performance management model based on artificial intelligence.
INEOS reinvents itself with Netcompany and bets on AI to optimize performance
Starting from the beginning of the 2026 Giro d'Italia, the team will compete under the name Netcompany INEOS Cycling Team, also debuting new equipment and visual identity. The name change reflects the strategic dimension of an agreement that goes beyond traditional sponsorship.
The core of the project is PULSE, the digital platform powered by artificial intelligence developed by Netcompany. This system, already operational in complex environments such as international airports, is now being introduced into professional cycling with a clear goal: to transform large volumes of data into practical real-time decisions.
The integration of PULSE will allow for the centralization of information from training, competition, and recovery into a single source, facilitating coordinated decision-making between riders and staff. The key is not to generate more data, but to interpret it quickly and accurately to optimize every detail of performance.

As explained by Dave Brailsford, the team's sporting director, modern cycling already has a huge amount of information, but the real challenge is to convert it into concrete and repeatable actions. In this context, the arrival of this technology aims to accelerate decision-making processes during races and improve consistency in performance.
The agreement includes the full license of the PULSE platform for the five years of collaboration, ensuring its complete implementation in all areas of the team. This encompasses everything from training planning to race strategy, as well as operational management.
From the INEOS management, Jim Ratcliffe emphasized that this collaboration brings additional resources and technological capabilities that enhance the team's competitiveness in the WorldTour. The ambition remains the same: to win the Tour de France again and establish itself as a reference in the peloton.
For his part, André Rogaczewski highlighted that this alliance is part of the company's European expansion strategy, using elite sports as a showcase to demonstrate the real impact of artificial intelligence in high-demand environments.
One of the key points will be PULSE's ability to operate in real-time during competition. The system will integrate multiple variables, from physiological data to tactical information, to provide a unified view that allows for faster and more coordinated decisions.
In practical terms, this translates into improved internal communication, greater alignment among all team members, and optimization of resources during races. The goal is to reduce uncertainty and maximize performance in decisive moments.
Geraint Thomas, now in a sporting director role within the team, emphasized that success still depends on executing the fundamentals well, but tools like PULSE can make a difference by ensuring that everyone works with the same information and in real-time.
