The Epic 8 EVO comes in aluminum with the Chisel Comp EVO model
The Specialized Chisel is one of the standout models in the brand's catalog as it has replicated its XCO, the Epic, in aluminum. Now, using the same ultralight frame and drawing inspiration from the geometry and kinematics of the Epic 8 EVO, comes the new Chisel Comp EVO with 130mm.
Specialized Chisel Comp EVO 2025: the best downcountry in aluminum?
Specialized proclaims the Chisel Comp as the lightest and fastest double suspension XCO in the world with an aluminum frame and they have achieved this by transferring the concept of the Epic 8 to aluminum. Now they have wanted to do the same with this Chisel Comp EVO by implementing the capabilities of the Epic 8 EVO into the same aluminum frame.
Starting from the D'Aluisio Smartweld frame, where each tube has been optimized with shapes and thicknesses to offer optimal stiffness that guarantees efficiency and smoothness of driving, the new Chisel Comp EVO maximizes the rear suspension system with an innovative rear triangle that is more flexible, improving the driving sensation without the weight and maintenance of traditional pivots. Its hydroformed seat tube integrates the seat tube pivot, main pivot, and bottom bracket shell, reducing material and weight compared to traditional designs.

The Chisel Comp EVO takes advantage of the geometry and kinematics included in the Epic 8 EVO to improve the downhill experience without forgetting the efficiency in climbing. The inclined seat tube offers an optimal pedaling position. The improved anti-squat reduces pedal bob.
The assembly of the model completes a perfect platform for faster descents, with tires that prioritize grip, like the Purgatory in front, with the T9 compound, and a Ground Control tire in the back with the T7 compound. In the suspensions, there is an increase in travel up front to 130mm with the FOX 34 Performance Elite, with the GRIP 2 cartridge, accompanied by a FOX Float Performance rear shock with Ride Dynamics adjustment. The larger diameter handlebar (35mm) provides stiffness and stability, and a telescopic seatpost with more travel than the standard Chisel allows for more clearance on technical terrain. Additionally, it features SRAM G2 RSC 4-piston brakes for increased braking power.
