The DSM-Firmenich will now be Picnic PostNL and Lapierre will return to the World Tour
Finally, it seems that common sense is beginning to prevail in cycling and we don't have to wait until January 1st to find out about the new team uniforms, names, and equipment they will be using. Among the many novelties that are being presented these days, one of the most striking is the significant change of Team DSM-firmenich-PostNL, which changes its name to Picnic-PostNL and will also have a new bike supplier.
Lapierre returns to the World Tour with Picnic-PostNL, the new name for DSM
After a year of absence from the men's World Tour and just when it was announced a few days ago that they were also no longer supplying the FDJ-Suez women's team, good news finally arrives for the French brand Lapierre, which will once again be present at the highest level, this time supporting the Dutch team Picnic-PostNL, the new name for the team formerly known as Team DSM-firmenich-PostNL, which is ending its collaboration with Scott, the brand whose bikes they had been using in recent years.

It is expected that the cyclists of Picnic-PostNL will use the aerolight bike from the French brand, the Xelius DSR that Lapierre launched just a couple of months ago. According to Dorian Tabeau, Lapierre's global director, this commitment to Picnic-PostNL is part of a strategy to internationalize the brand and make Lapierre a reference brand in the sector.
Picnic, the new sponsor of the Dutch team, is a kind of online supermarket specializing in providing fresh and healthy products. Although they disappear from the team's name, DSM-firmenich will continue to be present among the sponsors of a team that has changed its name countless times since that distant 2006 when it was known as Skil-Shimano, then Argos-Shimano, and then Giant-Shimano for only one year. This was followed by Giant-Alpecin and then Sunweb, a name that remained until 2021 when DSM took over sponsorship.
Obviously, this also means a change in the team's clothing, where the Dutch postal service PostNL gains prominence, with its corporate orange being even more evident in the stripes that occupy the center of the jersey, although its logo shares the main area of the jersey equally with the new sponsor Picnic in a design where the light blue is replaced by a predominant navy blue.
