The Cannondale Factory Racing team is about to start a new era and Charlie Aldridge is the first piece
Some rumors made us fear for its continuity, but after an epic season, Cannondale Factory Racing announces the beginning of a new era with the renewal of British Charlie Aldridge as its first step.
Cannondale Factory Racing advances a new era with the renewal of Charlie Aldridge
Cannondale Factory Racing is one of the most emblematic teams in the XCO World Cup, the brand has been united to this sport since its beginnings and in its history has always managed to be at the forefront in competition. But looking ahead to the 2025 season, there were many rumors about the future of the team and there was even speculation about its disappearance, something that fortunately will not happen as the team prepares to start a new era.
In 2024, Cannondale Factory Racing has been an absolute protagonist thanks to the dominance of Alan Hatherly in the XCO World Cup, his gold medal at the World Championships, and the bronze at the Olympics. But also, Simon Andreassen and Mona Mitterwallner won the rainbow jerseys at the XCM World Championships. None of them will continue with the team in 2025.

Hatherly announced his signing with the Jayco road team and it is expected that Andreassen and Mitterwallner will announce new destinations in the coming weeks. Letting go of these cyclists is a difficult move to understand, but Cannondale is portraying it as a change of era that has just begun with the renewal of young talent Charlie Aldridge.
At 23 years old, Aldridge has been competing in the elite category for two seasons and his 2024 has been brilliant. He finished 4th in the XCO World Championships, 2nd in the XCC World Championships, twice 4th in an XCO World Cup race, 2nd in a Short Track, and 8th in the Olympics. These are very solid numbers that predict a future full of podiums for the British rider.
