Favorites to win the Women's Tour de France 2025
The fact that Demi Vollering arrives at the Women's Tour de France 2025 with the determination to reclaim a yellow jersey she couldn't defend in the previous edition after losing it on the last day should come as no surprise. Vollering arrives at the Tour de France as the culmination of an already outstanding season where she has won the Vuelta a España, Itzulia, Volta a Catalunya, and the Strade Bianche.

She will face the defending champion, Kasia Niewiadoma, who hasn't shone as brightly as the Dutch rider, but has shown consistency. Niewiadoma recently finished third in the Women's Tour of Switzerland and won both the time trial and road race at the Polish Championships.
The third contender is none other than Elisa Longo-Borghini, who recently won the Women's Giro d'Italia after a thrilling race where she had to overcome a tough opponent in Movistar's rider, Marlen Reusser.
We cannot forget, even though she may be considered a step below these riders, Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, who comes to the Women's Tour de France with great motivation after disappearing from competition since her brilliant victory in the Paris-Roubaix.
Route Women's Tour de France 2025
Similar to the men's race, the Women's Tour de France will start in the northwest of the country, specifically in the Brittany region, offering two challenging stages that could potentially shape the general classification from the beginning.
The race will continue with a couple of flat stages likely to end in a sprint before facing a medium mountain stage on the fifth day, with a finish that includes three climbs, providing another test for the riders.
This will lead to the first mountain stage, set in the tough terrain of the Massif Central, although it won't finish at the summit. The following stage, heading to Chambéry, will require the riders to conquer the Col du Granier just 8 kilometers from the finish.
However, the decisive moment of the race will come on stage 8, with the finish at the Col de la Madeleine, a stage almost entirely focused on this climb, starting with the ascent to Col de Plainpalais, followed by a long flat section before reaching the beginning of the alpine colossus that will decide the Women's Tour de France.
If there is still anything to be decided, the final stage, heading to Chatel, features the iconic Joux Plane in the middle of the route. Before and after this climb, the riders will tackle two first-category climbs, with the last one, Col du Corbier, located 30 kilometers from the finish.
How to Watch the Women's Tour de France 2025
Both Eurosport/Max and Televisión Española and their platform RTVE Play will provide full coverage of the Women's Tour de France 2025.
It is important to note the unusual schedules of the first two stages, which will take place later than usual to avoid overlapping with the men's Tour that is still ongoing.
