You can now create a Strava account for your dog and monitor it with this smart collar
Strava partners with the American company Fi Collar to integrate dogs into the universe of the application. The agreement will allow users to track statistics of their walks and routes and share the results with the community. Both companies have launched a limited offer of three months free for Strava users.
The smart collar Fi opens the door to dogs joining Strava
It is possible that -at least in some cases- dogs are the best friends of their owners. The affection, joy, and loyalty with which they usually treat those who take care of them are evident. But dogs also require some physical activity to maintain proper health. That's why some people take them when they go out to exercise; and, especially, it is quite common to find cyclists pedaling accompanied by their dog.
Now, Strava and Fi have announced a partnership that will bring together these two worlds: the Fi dog collar will monitor various parameters of the animal and the results will be automatically uploaded to Strava.

Fi is an American company that aims to shake up the dog collar sector with a futuristic proposal that involves collecting data about this pet. Thus, the collar monitors activity, sleep, behavior, and allows for GPS tracking. The novelty is that now the data from walks or routes can also be found on Strava.
In fact, the announcement highlights that the results will be automatically published on Strava. In this way, the spirit of community -and we will also see if competitive- will reach the dogs of the house with a graph showing walk statistics, such as steps, rankings, and streaks.
The agreement was made public on the well-known Walk Your Dog Day and a promotion has been launched to attract the interest of Strava users, who will be able to access a special offer of 20 euros discount and up to three months free.
