Specialized has just unveiled a "Levo SUV": this is the new Vado 3 X
Just a few weeks ago, Specialized presented the new generation Turbo Vado 3, a completely renewed platform for its urban and trekking e-bikes that represented a huge leap in power, autonomy, and technological integration. Now the brand expands that family with the arrival of the new Turbo Vado 3 X, an even more ambitious variant that brings the concept much closer to electric MTB.

Specialized expands the new Vado 3 range with the unprecedented Vado 3 X: a dual-suspension SUV e-bike with Levo 4 DNA
While the conventional Vado 3 was clearly focused on premium daily use and fast trekking, this new Vado 3 X adds full suspension, more aggressive geometry, larger tires, and an SUV approach designed to combine city, trails, travel, and light off-road routes. Essentially, Specialized has just created a kind of "urban Levo."
The new Vado 3 X shares a good part of the technical base presented in April in the Vado 3 —which you can see here—, including the new Specialized 3.1 electric system, the high-capacity battery, and the integrated digital ecosystem. But it adds important innovations in the frame, geometry, and equipment that completely change the character of the bike.

The same motor as the Levo 4, now in an SUV e-bike
The main technical argument of the entire Vado 3 family remains the new Specialized 3.1 system inherited directly from the Levo 4. Specialized claims that it is the same "SuperNatural" DNA used in its most advanced e-MTB, now transferred to a bike designed for mobility and adventure.

The new Vado 3 X develops up to 810 W of maximum power and 105 Nm of torque, figures that are completely out of the ordinary within the urban and trekking segment. According to the brand, this represents up to 45% more power and 50% more torque compared to the previous generation Vado.
One of the most striking aspects is that Specialized has not reserved this motor for the top-of-the-line model. The entire Vado 3 X collection uses exactly the same electric system and the same integrated 840 Wh battery, regardless of the chosen setup.

The announced autonomy reaches up to 150 km or about 5 hours of use in Eco mode, and there is also an optional 280 Wh extender for even longer routes.
The big news: full suspension and all-terrain focus
The main difference compared to the Vado 3 presented in April is in the frame. The new Vado 3 X abandons the purely urban approach to become a dual-suspension all-terrain bike.
The frame incorporates 120 mm of rear travel and is combined with a 130 mm fork, a completely unprecedented configuration in the Vado range.

The geometry also clearly changes compared to the standard Vado 3. The head angle is relaxed to 66° and the entire bike adopts a much more stable behavior, ready for rough terrain.

The 2.6” Specialized Hemisphere tires, the integrated cockpit, and the more upright position further reinforce the idea of a premium SUV bike capable of transitioning from asphalt to trails and paths with much more naturalness than a conventional trekking bike.
Specialized bets on total integration
Another key inherited from the original Vado 3 is the huge electronic and technological integration.
The Vado 3 X incorporates the new 2.2-inch MasterMind touchscreen integrated directly into the cockpit. From it, the electric system, assistance modes, navigation data, and performance metrics are controlled.

The higher versions also add Quad Lock support with wireless charging for smartphones and compatibility with Apple Watch and Garmin devices.
Specialized has also taken the idea of integrated security much further. The Vado 3 X 6.0 incorporates a keyless digital locking system developed with Abus that allows locking the wheel, battery, and electric system directly from the bike.
The entire range integrates Apple Find My and Turbo System Lock for location and anti-theft protection.
A bike designed for traveling, carrying, and replacing the car
Although the Vado 3 X has an aesthetic clearly inspired by electric MTB, Specialized continues to maintain the practical focus of the Turbo range.
All models incorporate a rear MIK rack, fenders, integrated lighting, and compatibility with bags, trailers, and cargo accessories.

The Vado 3 X versions also use a rear rack of up to 25 kg and an optional front rack of 10 kg, maintaining a load capacity much higher than usual in electric trail bikes.
