Spain consolidates the roller as part of training: absolute record on Zwift
Indoor cycling has ceased to be a sporadic resource and has become a key component of training for thousands of cyclists in Spain. The most recent data from Zwift confirms a historic year, with figures placing the Spanish community among the most active in the world.
Indoor cycling experiences a historic year in Spain: Zwifters pedal the equivalent of 33 years in just 12 months
Throughout 2025, Spanish Zwifters accumulated 17.38 million minutes of activity, a figure that equates to more than 12,000 days on the bike or, expressed continuously, 33 years of pedaling without rest. This volume confirms not only the growth of indoor cycling but also its consolidation as a reliable alternative against bad weather or lack of light during the winter.

The volume of recorded distance also shows spectacular figures: 21.3 million kilometers traveled, enough to complete more than 6,000 editions of the Tour de France, 532 laps around the planet, or more than 50 one-way trips to the Moon. A collective effort that gives an idea of the level of activity that indoor cycling has reached in Spain.

Globally, Zwift recorded 1.3 billion kilometers traveled in 2025. The most popular routes were the great classics of Watopia, Tempus Fugit, Tick Tock, and Flat Route, ideal settings for steady pace training.
Despite this, the global community did not shy away from the mountains: 11.5 billion meters of positive elevation gain were achieved, with a daily record of 78 million on January 5.
One of the distinctive elements of Zwift remains the presence of RoboPacers, virtual captains who maintain a constant pace 24/7. The three most demanding, Jacques, Genie, and Constance, capable of riding above 3 w/kg, represent only 12% of all usage hours. The majority of sessions are conducted at intermediate paces alongside Miguel (1.8 w/kg), Maria (2.2 w/kg), and Coco (2.6 w/kg), allowing a large portion of users to train within more accessible zones.

In addition to daily training, competition continues to be one of the driving forces of the platform. In 2025, 20.1 million structured sessions and 2.2 million competitive activities were completed, ranging from time trials to team events.
Events like the Tour de Zwift, Zwift Unlocked, and The Big Spin maintain their popularity year after year and serve as a meeting point for cyclists of all levels.
The global average duration of sessions was 59 minutes, a figure that aligns with intense but manageable training for most users.
