Shimano has opened the call for a new edition of its Shimano Service Center Mechanics Contest, an initiative aimed exclusively at the workshops that are part of its official Shimano Service Center network in Spain. The goal is to select the 12 best mechanics in the country, who will compete in a national final with the added prize of representing Spain in the grand European final organized by the brand's headquarters.

Participation is exclusive to mechanics belonging to a Shimano Service Center, a key point that the company wants to emphasize in this call, and it is presented as a complete experience that combines technical knowledge, time pressure, and real workshop practical tests.

The process is divided into several phases:

1. Pre-selection and online test. Participants must complete an online technical test through the ShimanoTec platform (registration is required). The test consists of 25 technical questions, can only be taken once, and precision and proper time management are essential.
2. Practical final in Spain. The 12 mechanics who correctly complete the test within the established time will access the practical final, which will be held at Shimano's headquarters in Alcobendas.
3. Jump to the European final. The 3 best mechanics from the national final will represent Spain in the European Mechanics Contest, where they will compete as a team with the best specialists from other countries. A top-level training and professional experience within the sector.

Access to the pre-selection test for the Shimano Mechanics Contest is done through the ShimanoTec platform, at the link https://www.shimano-tec.com/schools/135, where within the menu the section Mechanics Championship 2026. must be selected.

The test can be completed between January 26 and January 30, both inclusive. Once the pre-selection process is closed, on February 4, the names of the 12 finalist mechanics who will access the practical final will be communicated via email.

Shimano emphasizes that this is not just about “passing an exam,” but about facing a real technical challenge, sharing a day with other professionals in the sector, and demonstrating the level required in the elite of bicycle maintenance and mechanics.
