For the construction of this Scott Silence eRIDE, the brand opts for its HMX carbon, a material rarely used in urban bikes. This is the second level of carbon available in Scott's range, until recently the first, and only found in their competition models. The reason for using this carbon is to provide the frame with enough structural rigidity to deal with the forces generated by its motor, as well as to house the battery, all while keeping the weight as low as possible, one of the main premises of this bike.
The elaborate frame of this Scott Silence eRide is designed to accommodate one of the most popular motors on the market for its lightness and efficiency, especially for its lack of friction when pedaling without assistance, allowing the bike to be used even without the support of the motor. We are talking about a TQ HPR50, a motor weighing just 1.8 kg and capable of providing 50 Nm of torque, a modest figure but more than enough considering the lightweight nature of the whole.
The motor is accompanied by a simple display integrated into the top tube that allows you to turn on the system, choose the operating mode, and quickly see the battery level. However, if you want to get the most out of it, you can use the TQ mobile app to get complete information as if it were a cycle computer, as well as customize the different operating modes. Additionally, the system also has ANT+ connectivity, allowing you to link it with your favorite cycle computer that supports TQ motors, such as Garmin, Wahoo, or Hammerhead.
To power the motor, Scott has equipped the Silence eRide with a 360 Wh battery in the diagonal tube, with the option to add an external Range Extender, in the usual position of a water bottle, which adds another 160 Wh.
A standout feature in the design of this bike is the use of completely internal point-to-point wiring, similar to what we see in road or gravel bikes from the brand, resulting in clean lines that give a very attractive look to this Scott Silence eRide. Speaking of integration, it also includes a necessary element for urban riding, high-quality lights with a powerful Lezyne e65 at the front and a model developed by Syncros, a brand owned by Scott, to mark our position at the back.
The equipment is completed with a front rack that integrates the mudguard, which is also present on the rear wheel. However, there is a lack of additional cargo capacity, as the rear frame does not have any threads to mount a rear rack, which would undoubtedly add more versatility to this bike.
Finally, the transmission, where an efficient SRAM Rival AXS XPLR in a single-chainring configuration is chosen.
