A few days ago he announced that he would be operated on for the second time in a few weeks on his heart, now Peter Sagan has just updated his health status after being operated on in Italy on March 20. The cardiac monitoring device, implanted in Peter Sagan on February 23, detected a supraventricular tachycardia on Saturday, March 16 during a training session in Marseille.
Dr. Roberto Corsetti, the sports cardiologist in charge of Peter, decided to undergo a new electrophysiological cardiac evaluation. Yesterday, March 20, at the Torrette Lancisi University Hospital in Ancona, a transcateter ablation for supraventricular tachycardia was performed by Professor Antonio Dello Russo, in the presence of Dr. Corsetti. After 15 days of rest and additional evaluations necessary by Dr. Corsetti, Peter will be able to resume training.
Although time is running out for him, the deadline to try to qualify by countries is May 26, it seems that this setback will not stop Sagan in his attempt to earn the UCI points necessary to compete in the upcoming Paris Olympics in the mountain bike event.
